The idea's simple. There is hardly anything original or even worth commenting on when it comes to choosing your favourite music, books, films etc. of the decade, all time or any other criteria you can think of. There is also nothing particularly exciting about making (yes, yet another!) blog about it and bestow it upon the goode ole folk of the Internets.
But then again, it all depends on what your intentions are. For us, it's just fun. And since we're sometimes only loosely connected with each other, it would be very, very difficult for all of us to sit down together and have a chat about our lists. Hence the blog as a convenient platform to do just so. Should we attract a lone stranger and provide a minute or two of entertainment - well, unintended, but you're welcome :P
We're starting with the nineties as this is where the whole project started. TC Jonathan saw a countdown of the best tracks of the nineties in a magazine and thought it'd be an interesting idea to come up with our own selections, among friends, and compare them. I think he mentioned a word 'banter' when thinking of us giving each other witty comments. Since it's personal tastes in music we'll be discussing and I'm more of a realist, 'epic fall-outs' is more what I expect, but then again, anything for a chance to reconcile in the presence of intoxicating distillates. There's also a chance, however slim, of an interesting, intellectual and relevant discussion but I don't dare to wish too much.
Anyroads, long story short, here's the blog. We're going to try and have fun. You might as well.
